Louis Vuitton

beautiful, fun Easter windows on 5 Avenue NY

i always admire how a luxury brand like LV manage to design classy windows with an edge that is relevant and executed immaculately - never losing focus on their product.
not an easy task, but then again i am sure they work with the best of the best :)

merchandising in marrakesh

who would have thought ?
i saw so many shops in the Madina, that use old fashioned visual merchandising window displays to sell their product
here are some of my favourites
:)

i love this picture.
i was watching these two ladies. they stopped, looked and discussed the 'dress' in this window, then went to the other one, talked some more, back to the first one, and then they walked into the shop !
windows that sell !

Stella Blunt - Broadway Market

this little vintage shop stocks objects and furniture and has a cute handpicked selection of different pieces from lots of eras from art deco mirrors to 50's tables....

i love how everything is put together in such an easy interesting way.
it makes you eye curious to want to see more...

the shop is located on Broadway Market and is well suited amongst all the other specialty shops on the strip. even if you are just going to browse, you will have a nice time just being around all the lovely items in the shop :)

good design- the ‘Ten commandments’

Back in the early 1980s, Dieter Rams was becoming increasingly concerned by the state of the world around him – “an impenetrable confusion of forms, colours and noises.” Aware that he was a significant contributor to that world, he asked himself an important question: is my design good design?

As good design cannot be measured in a finite way he set about expressing the ten most important principles for what he considered was good design. (Sometimes they are referred as the ‘Ten commandments’.)

Here they are.
Good design is innovative.
Good design makes a product useful.
Good design is aesthetic.
Good design makes a product understandable.
Good design is unobtrusive.
Good design is honest.
Good design is long-lasting.
Good design is thorough down to the last detail.
Good design is environmentally friendly.
Good design is as little design as possible.

good design will never be out of fashion X
